I don’t really have much to say today. I got to spend a good amount of time hanging out with a friend and (sort of) watching the “Battlestar Galactica” miniseries. Said friend is attempting to get me into the show. While she has the nearly unforgivable sin of disliking “Firefly,” she is still quite the sci-fi fan. So I feel I should perhaps give BSG a try. …though that may be hard as I accidentally forgot the DVDs at her place. Whups.
Anyway, at one point, we discussed “Alice in Wonderland” and how there are, like, almost no songs in there. I remember “A Very Merry Unbirthday,” “Painting the Roses Red” and this one, which apparently most people forget. And since the only other things that have happened to me today have been forgetting to eat, forgetting to buy groceries (I’m about to amend that) and being called gay or a wuss for speaking against hazing in fraternities when it’s so totally obvious I desperately wanted to be in a frat, and since this song is stuck in my head, I’m copping out and giving you one of these silly things. The song is, like, less than two minutes long, including all the random talking that goes on in front of it.
So, have fun if you want, I suppose. I’m going to go buy groceries and, in my inevitable insomnia, see if I can finish rewriting/editing the final act of my play. A play which may be impossible to produce without a big budget. …ugh. But that’s a problem I’ll worry about later. For now, it’s all about finishing. Anyway. Song. Enjoy.
Cats and rabbits
Would reside in fancy little houses
And be dressed in shoes and hats and trousers
In a world of my own
All the flowers
Would have very extra special powers
They would sit and talk to me for hours
When I’m lonely in a world of my own
There’d be new birds
Lots of nice and friendly howdy-do birds
Everyone would have a dozen bluebirds
Within that world of my own
I could listen to a babbling brook
And hear a song that I could understand
I keep wishing it could be that way
Because my world would be a Wonderland
