Sing, Sang, Sung – “Go The Distance” From Disney’s “Hercules”

So, first off, “The Rumble in the Air-Conditioned Auditorium” is available online on YouTube, and you can also apparently still pay the $4.95 to charity and get the taped version from the website. There’s that.

Second, life can get rough. For realzies. You can tell I’m being serious by my use of “words” like realzies. Anyway, I personally needed a bit of a pick-me-up. The Rumble 2012 video helped, as has watching the show “Louie.” That show is… interesting, for sure. I keep watching it, though, so there’s that. But, more to the point of this post, this song helps me out sometimes. It’s not from one of my favorite Disney movies… not even close. I like classic mythology, and the movie certainly didn’t stick too closely with that. And I just… didn’t like the movie all that much. I only saw it once, but I don’t recall liking it terribly well. Still. This song is pretty good. It’s a message of hope. Sometimes, we need to pretend that still exists.

…I don’t really have much else to say. I’ve got some auditions coming up soon, so I’m a bit distracted by those. Maybe later this week I’ll put up some recipes or something.

“Go the Distance” – “Hercules”

I have often dreamed
Of a far off place
Where a great warm welcome
Will be waiting for me.

Where the crowds will cheer
When they see my face,
And a voice keeps saying
“This is where I’m meant to be.”

I will find my way,
I can go the distance.
I’ll be there someday,
If I can be strong.

I know every mile
Will be worth my while.
I would go most anywhere
to feel like I belong.

I will find my way,
I can go the distance.
I’ll be there someday,
If I can be strong.

I know every mile
Will be worth my while.
I would go most anywhere
to feel like I belong.
